1585–1605 British Voyages of Discovery for the Northwest Passage and the Davis Straits (with John Davis on Three Voyages)

John Davis, in a relatively short life of 55 years, accomplished a great deal of geographical discovery, including three voyages seeking the Northwest Passage, two to the East Indies, and an attempt to navigate the Strait of Magellan, among many adventures. He fought the Spanish Armada in 1588 and was killed in 1605 near Singapore by Japanese pirates whose vessel he had captured.
